Glue is Our Foundation. Relationships Are Our Future.
What began in a Newark garage with a single adhesive coater has grown into a nationally recognized manufacturer serving the pest control, agricultural, research, and government markets.
At Web-Cote Industries, we’ve built our reputation on glue—and on the strength of our relationships. Now proudly woman-owned, we remain committed to innovation, quality, and U.S. manufacturing, with every product designed to help protect public health, property, and food supply.
The Web-Cote Story

Founded in a Newark, NJ Garage
Web-Cote Industries is founded by Tom Spina, a former adhesive sales rep, in a garage in Newark, NJ. Using a custom-built coating machine and inspired by the term “web press,” Tom launches a business focused on coating hot-melt adhesives to rolled substrates — giving rise to the name Web-Cote.
Strategic Partnerships Formed
Tom partners with Ronald Grabowski and Zygmunt “Ziggy” Chojnacki, combining deep expertise in adhesives and chemistry. Together, they begin coating specialty adhesive products — from Velcro applications to early rat traps.
A New Direction
Tom departs to form Luminer Converting Group, leaving Ron and Ziggy to continue Web-Cote. The company begins designing and manufacturing unique coated products not readily available in the market — including oil filter films, depilatory tapes, RV seal tapes, and pantry moth traps.

Relocation & Growth
After relocating to Franklin, NJ, the company soon outgrows its facility and builds a custom manufacturing plant in Hamburg (Hardyston Township), NJ in 1992, which remains Web-Cote’s home today.

Focus on Pest Control
As demand grows in the pest control sector, Web-Cote develops a wide variety of glue traps for rodents, insects, agriculture, and specialty pests like the spotted lanternfly. Though they experimented with their own “Web-Trap” brand, customer demand pushed them toward exclusive private label manufacturing.

Change in Ownership
With retirement on the horizon, Ron and Ziggy sell the company to a long-time customer James Cowen of Roxide International, former owner of the Revenge brand.

Susan Masciarelli Joins the Team
Bringing deep manufacturing experience, Susan Masciarelli is hired to help guide the company into its next phase. As Web-Cote transitions from specialty adhesives to glue-based pest control solutions, Susan plays a pivotal role in operations and long-term strategy.
Becoming a Private Label Powerhouse
With Jim’s pest industry connections and Susan’s operational oversight, Web-Cote leans fully into OEM and private label glue trap manufacturing. The company expands its footprint in professional pest control, agriculture, retail, and international markets.
Leadership Evolution
As Jim gradually stepped back from daily operations, Susan Masciarelli expanded her leadership role—transitioning from Operations Manager to Vice President/General Manager. With a deep understanding of the business and a clear vision for the future, Susan began leading day-to-day operations, setting the stage for a new era of growth and innovation at Web-Cote.

Woman-Owned and Ready for the Future
In a major milestone, Susan Masciarelli officially purchases Web-Cote Industries, becoming President & CEO and making the company 100% woman-owned. With a renewed focus on operational excellence, cost reduction, and customer responsiveness, Susan leads the company into a new era of innovation, partnership, and growth.

WBENC Certification Achieved
Web-Cote becomes certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) — the gold standard in U.S. women-owned business certification.
"We pursued WBENC Certification to strengthen our competitive edge with supplier-diversity customers, access valuable networks and resources, and build partnerships that support the growth of women-owned businesses.” – Susan Masciarelli, President & CEO
