Preparing for Production
What We’ll Need From You
Working with Web-Cote is straightforward. To ensure efficient manufacturing and consistent print quality, we’ll need a few items before production begins. Following these guidelines helps reduce revisions, maintain production schedules, and ensure your finished product accurately represents your brand.
Printing Process & Capabilities
We use a flexographic narrow web print press to deliver durable, high-quality results.
- Pantone (PMS) color printing
- Up to six (6) colors per design
Production Artwork Requirements
Vector-Based Logo / Artwork
Adobe Illustrator (.AI or .EPS) files are required for crisp, accurate printing. Vector format alone does not guarantee production readiness. Artwork must be built with clean, closed shapes and appropriate detail for flexographic printing.
Production-Ready Artwork
Canva files, AI-generated artwork, and auto-traced imagery are not accepted. These files often contain excessive detail, fragmented paths, or uncontrolled color data that cannot be reliably reproduced on press.
Pantone (PMS) Color Standards
All artwork must include Pantone (PMS) spot color specifications to ensure accurate color matching and repeatability across production runs. CMYK, RGB, and HEX color values cannot be used for flexographic production.
Artwork Responsibility & Rights
Customer-supplied artwork must be production-ready before manufacturing begins. Files that do not meet production requirements will be returned for correction prior to press preparation.
Artwork created by Web-Cote Industries remains the intellectual property of Web-Cote and may not be reproduced or used outside the scope of our agreement without written authorization.
Why These Standards Matter
Flexographic printing differs significantly from digital printing. Proper artwork preparation helps ensure:
- Accurate brand color reproduction
- Clean, consistent print quality
- Reliable manufacturing performance
- Efficient production timelines
- Consistency across future production runs
Following these standards from the beginning reduces unnecessary revisions and helps move your products efficiently from approval to manufacturing.
Production Begins Here
Once your artwork and program details are finalized, we’ll move through the final steps:
Final Artwork Approval → Signed Production Agreement → Plate Creation → Production Scheduling
From there, our team manages printing, manufacturing, packaging, and final pack-out under one roof.
